Memorial

The cemetery will be built on 150 acres along Maysville Road in northeast Madison County, just south of Saint Clair and north of Ryland Pike.

This cemetery will be the second one for veterans in the state.

Ground breaking on the cemetery is scheduled for  Oct. 15, 2026. Construction is expected to take 12-14 months, so the end date is expected to be around late 2027 or early 2028.

The 150 acres of land will hold up to 150,000 burial sites. Officials expect it won’t be full for 200 years.

The plans include an amphitheater, a bell tower, additional grave sites and an additional communal shelter.
